If you receive a gifted membership and are already a Citi Bike member, you'll need to cancel your current membership in the app or through your account on the Citi Bike website, then let it expire. After expired, you'll be able to redeem your gifted membership.

Gift cards cover the membership, but do not cover any extra time charges the recipient may incur. So even if they're redeeming a gift card, they must keep an active credit or debit card on file in their account.
