If you lost your bike key and suspect that someone may have access to it, please contact Citi Bike customer service, now supported by Lyft, to deactivate your key and prevent fraudulent use. Any overtime, service, damage or stolen bike fees incurred by your key before you have reported it as lost or stolen will be your responsibility.
In lieu of ordering a replacement bike key, we highly recommend switching to the Citi Bike app as your tool to unlock bikes. No waiting and no hassle! Unlock bikes, find stations, plan your ride and more all from one convenient place. Simply open up the Citi Bike mobile app, tap the closest station market, and tap "Unlock a bike." A 5-digit ride code will appear – enter it into the keypad on the dock next to an available bike to unlock it.
If you would like to receive a new bike key, you can submit a request via our contact form. Kindly note, Citi Bike no longer ships replacement bike keys. Instead, you can pick up your new key at a designated Citi Bike station kiosk.
